Why would I seek counselling?

Gibbs Psychology will work with you in a supportive and confidential discussion through which your needs will be identified, and a plan to assist you will be developed together.
We will explore your current concerns, how they are affecting you and the history of how they developed.
The focus of therapy is upon assisting you in the present through the development of skills and coping strategies tailored to your needs.
As such, therapy may involve exercises between sessions, which have been developed between you and your treating therapist.
It also involves ensuring that priority areas are identified and addressed in order to ensure the maximum benefit in a defined period of time.
The number of sessions required varies from person to person and depends upon your individual needs.
